Frequently Asked Questions
What forms do I need to complete prior to arrival?
All travelers arriving by either sea or air must complete the Immigration and Customs ED Form. (www.knatravelform.kn)
Do I have to fill out any extra immigration forms when traveling by private yacht or boat?
Yes. Along with the Immigrations and Customs ED Form, all yachts and boats are also required to complete the electronic CARICOM Advance Passenger Information for each passenger aboard prior to their arrival. (https://caricomeapis.org/)
How do I declare customs online for private yachts or boats?
SailClear is the electronic operator for customs declaration required for all vessels arriving in St. Kitts and Nevis. An arrival notification must be completed when entering the country, and a departure notification is necessary for clearance to leave. This can be completed by either the captain or a vessel representative (ie. a local yacht agent can complete the form on the vessel’s behalf).
How does SailClear work?
Create a SailClear (sailclear.com) account in order to successfully complete your customs declaration. After your account has been created, you must register your vessel by following the instructions to create a notification for each vessel. Information required will include details regarding the size, home country, and characteristics of the vessel.
Do I have to create separate notifications for arrival and departure?
Yes, separate notifications must be created for both arrival and departure. An Arrival or Departure notification can be completed at any time prior to visiting the Customs office. However, clearance is only granted within 24 hours of arrival or departure.
